Carriage House Garage Doors in Palm Beach County, FL.
Free in-home design consultation. Real product samples. Eric quotes in writing within 24 hours.
Carriage-house garage doors are the most-requested premium style in Palm Beach County — particularly in Wellington's equestrian communities, Boca Raton's older neighborhoods, and Manalapan's coastal estates. They combine the traditional aesthetic of a swing-out barn door with the practicality of modern sectional operation. Hurricane-rated impact panels are standard on every PBC install.
Our most-installed carriage-house series: Clopay Coachman Collection (steel sectional with composite overlay panels for a true carved-wood look), Clopay Reserve Collection (real wood overlay with steel construction), and Amarr Hillcrest (faux-painted hardware accents for a more authentic carriage appearance).
Wellington equestrian-community ARCs typically approve specific carriage-house patterns. We've installed dozens of approved doors in Palm Beach Polo, Versailles, Olympia, and the smaller farm/ranch HOAs around White Fences and Saddle Trail. We handle the ARC submission paperwork.

Why carriage-house is PBC's most popular upgrade.
Carriage-house doors are designed to look like the swing-open wooden barn doors of pre-WWII estate carriage houses, but operate as modern sectional sliding doors. They give a home meaningful curb appeal without sacrificing modern convenience. In Palm Beach County we install more carriage-house doors than any other premium style — the look complements Boca's Mizner-influenced architecture, the Mediterranean revival homes of Palm Beach proper, and the country-club estates of Wellington and Jupiter.
What makes a "carriage-house" door.
- Vertical plank face — the visual signature. Either real-wood planking or composite-overlay planking.
- Cross-bracing or X-style stays — decorative iron or composite straps that reinforce the carriage-house look.
- Window inserts — typically arched or rectangular windows along the top row. Adds light and is the visual hallmark of carriage-house design.
- Decorative hardware — black iron strap hinges and handle accents.
Material options for PBC.
Composite-clad steel (Clopay Coachman, Amarr Classica) is our most-installed in PBC. Steel core for hurricane-code compliance, composite face for the wood look without the maintenance. Real wood (mahogany, cedar) is available but commits you to refinishing every 3-5 years given FL humidity.
Hurricane-rated carriage-house options.
Clopay Coachman has FL Product Approval-listed hurricane-rated versions for installs east of US-1. Amarr Classica offers wind-load ratings up to 180 mph for waterfront homes. We never quote a non-hurricane-rated carriage-house door for coastal PBC clients — the upcharge is small and the FL code requirement is unavoidable.
Installed PBC pricing.
Composite-overlay carriage-house starts around $3,800 installed for a 16-foot double in PBC; premium models with wrought-iron hardware and impact glass windows can run $7,500-$9,500. Real-wood mahogany carriage doors start at $11,000.
