Garage door opener repair.
Same-day Palm Beach County dispatch from our Lantana and Loxahatchee offices. Free phone diagnostic. Written warranty on every job.
If the opener motor runs but the door doesn't move, the light blinks and nothing happens, or the remote works one day and not the next — you're in the right place. Garage door opener repair is one of our most common Palm Beach County service calls. We diagnose by phone, dispatch from the closer of our two PBC offices, and most repairs finish same-day.
South Florida is hard on garage door openers. The single biggest cause of premature opener failure in PBC is voltage spike from afternoon thunderstorms — particularly inland in The Acreage, Wellington, and Jupiter Farms where lightning exposure is sustained. Coastal openers in Lantana, Hypoluxo, and Manalapan have a different enemy: humidity and salt-air corrosion on the logic board contacts.
Most Palm Beach County openers we service are LiftMaster or Chamberlain chain-drives installed between the late 1990s and 2010. They're built to last 15–20 years. After that, repair vs. replace becomes the real conversation — and we'll walk you through both options honestly.
Common symptoms.
Opener powers on but won't activate the door
Logic board damage from a voltage spike, or worn capacitor. Replacement: $185–$295 plus optional surge-protected outlet.
Motor runs, but the door doesn't move
Stripped plastic gear inside the opener — common at the 12-15 year mark on chain drives. Gear kit replacement: $145–$225, or full opener replacement if the unit is 18+ years old.
Door reverses immediately on close
Photo-eye safety sensors out of alignment or damaged. Realignment is often free when bundled. Sensor replacement: $89–$145.
Remote works sporadically or not at all
Either dead remote battery (free fix) or receiver module on the opener has failed. Receiver replacement: $85.
MyQ / WiFi not connecting
Setup issues, range problems, or hub failure. We bring a signal tester to confirm coverage. Service: $89, full retrofit: $145.
Battery backup dead or beeping
FL Code has required battery backup since July 2019. Batteries fail every 4–5 years. Replacement: $145.

Common questions.
How much does it cost to fix a garage door opener in Palm Beach County?
Most opener repairs in PBC run $149–$295 including parts, labor, and a 1-year warranty. Logic board replacements are typically $185–$295. We quote in writing before any work begins.
Should I repair or replace my opener?
Generally repair when the unit is under 15 years old and the repair cost is under 50% of a new install. Replace when it's 18+ years old, lacks battery backup (FL Code required since 2019), or parts are no longer manufactured. We'll quote both.
Can you fix LiftMaster MyQ connectivity?
Yes — MyQ setup, Wi-Fi range issues, hub pairing, and Alexa/Google Home integration are routine for us. Most fixes take 30 minutes on-site.
How long does an opener replacement take?
About 2 hours for a standard LiftMaster jackshaft replacement, including opener install, opener-arm alignment, remote and keypad pairing, and battery backup setup.
Do you service Chamberlain, Genie, and Craftsman openers too?
Yes. LiftMaster and Chamberlain are the same parent company (Chamberlain Group) and share most parts. Genie and Craftsman use different gear and logic board designs but we carry the common replacements.
